At this time of year we see the trees barely holding back the vibrant colors of fall. Sometimes a tree seems to suddenly burst in a complete change of color in an instant, but more often the transition is gradual, just a few leaves at a time. Then after some time the entire tree is decorated in the colors of fall. We are no different. Sometimes God makes a dramatic change in our lives and we have a complete conversion in an instant, but more often the Holy Spirit works on us a little bit at a time, gradually forming us into the people God wants us to be.

Creator, help me to be open to the colors you want me to display for all the world to see! Amen!
